Renewable Energy (RE), also sometimes mentioned as clean energy is getting a wider acceptance across India in different sectors. Few years back the concept of Renewable energy was unknown to masses compared to present time, however over time the nodal ministry for Renewable Energy i.e. MNRE initiated programmes, schemes and incentives for the effective promotion of Renewable energy sources in India. Along with different awareness campaigns, conferences, workshops and all such activities and the involvement of government bodies’ importance of renewable energy vis-à-vis climate change came in light and hence received a wider acclamation among masses.

Renewable energy is considered to be one of the most effective tools that can help combat climate change through its widespread application. Most of the GHG emissions in India are recorded to be from energy sector which perhaps can be reduced with an effective use of Renewable energy sources.
